UK Libraries provides resources and services to support research by faculty in all colleges and departments on campus.  We want to be sure you are aware of the key research services identified below. Research Services & Resources:

• Search for materials in InfoKat Discovery Links to an external site..  As a Discovery System, InfoKat Discovery includes books and other materials owned by UK (things you would find in a traditional library catalog) as well articles, e-books and other online materials (things you would have had to find in various other databases and resources).  InfoKat Discovery does not provide access to everything UK Libraries provides, but it is a great place to begin your research.

• UK subscribes to a number of academic databases.  Find databases using the DATABASES tab on the search box on our main page Links to an external site., a Research Guide Links to an external site. for your field, or search for a known database Links to an external site. by name.

• Use Interlibrary Loan Links to an external site. to request items not owned by UK.  Main campus users can log in with your Linkblue credentials.  (Medical Center Links to an external site. and Law Links to an external site. users will create accounts.)

• Use the E-Journals Links to an external site. tab in the main search box on the top of all pages in our website to find e-journals by title. You can also search for journal titles (paper or electronic) directly in InfoKat Discovery.  (There are some articles included in InfoKat Discovery, but unless you are looking for a particular article in a known online journal, you will probably want to search a relevant article database rather than InfoKat Discovery to find articles.  Several article databases are included with InfoKat Discovery, but not all.) • You can search for E-Books in InfoKat Discovery Links to an external site.. Conduct your search, then use “Resource Type” > “more options” to limit to Books. Then click “Full Text Online” at the top of the search results. E-Books come in a number of different platforms and may require special software.  See the E-Book Guide Links to an external site. for information. 

• UKnowledge Links to an external site., our campus repository.  Access UK research and contribute your own scholarship to this growing repository.  See the UKnowledge Guide Links to an external site. for more information.

• Contact UK Libraries for help with Research Data Services and Data Management Links to an external site..

• UK licenses EndNote, a citation management tool.  UK Librarians have created a guide to help EndNote Links to an external site. users and also offer classes on EndNote and other resources Links to an external site..

• ExploreUK Links to an external site. is a digital library of unique resources from our Special Collections Research Center Links to an external site..
