Module 5: PDF Accessibility Checker
Another tool that is available to users is the PDF accessibility checker contained within Adobe Acrobat. This tool makes it easier to create and check PDFs for accessibility issues.
A predefined set of automated actions checks for common accessibility characteristics such as structure, tags, and the presence of security settings. It identifies problem areas and provides instructions for items that require manual fixes. There is also a full check tool that verifies whether the content conforms to the WCAG standards and summarizes its findings in an accessibility report. The report contains links to tools and documentation that further assist with fixing the issues.
