WRD 111 – or Composition and Communication II – offers students the opportunity to further develop the academic communication skills that will allow you to thrive as you pursue a degree and gain expertise in your chosen field(s). This is another UK Core course that focuses on integrated communication skills, but the emphasis this semester will be set squarely on critical inquiry, research, and rhetorical engagement. These being the foundational elements of effective rhetoric and productive communication of all kinds. Throughout this semester, we will explore issues of public concern using critical analysis, join the public conversation about these topics, and ultimately propose well-articulated solutions for how to resolve these debates.
