Our mission: The Special Collections Research Center preserves materials documenting the social, cultural, economic, and political history of Kentucky. The SCRC is home to UK Libraries' collection of rare books, Kentuckiana, the University Archives, the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History, the King Library Press, the Bert T. Combs Appalachian Collection, the John G. Heyburn II Initiative for Excellence in the Federal Judiciary, and the Wendell H. Ford Public Policy Research Center. Our collections include primary sources and historical documents of all types and formats, digital collections, print materials, works of art, and artifacts. - Hours and Location
The SCRC is generally open Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. Check the Campus Library Hours Links to an external site. website for daily schedules, changes, or closings.
We are located in the Margaret I. King Library Links to an external site. in central campus, between Maxwell Place and White Hall, up the hill from Fine Arts and the Singletary Center.
