4/21 Congratulations - everyone has passed this course and ready to move on to your first clinical. Your papers are graded. I will upload my comments on them when I am back on campus. Currently at the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty meeting- as always updating on issues in the field that are not yet in print. Telehealth is a big topic this year; some places doing alot of it and others none. Lots of legal and reimbursement issues. Lots of variability at State government level. I am sure you will be hearing more about this later in your program.
......
4/9 Papers are due today. If you are needing to remediate for the EKG exam you will have until the end of the term, April 27th.
This was a great class. You are well prepared for your first clinical and the next in the AGACNP specific courses, NUR941.
...............
3/9......... The last two modules have been posted as well as the template for Exam 4. On the EKG exam if you need to remediate what we will do is give you 2 weeks to study and then I will make another exam available for you to take to get at least 80%. As stated before, your first attempt will count toward your course grade. You will have the rest of the semester to take the remediation exam as it best fits in your schedule.
Remember for the coming class we will spend part of the time practicing bedside exams on your fellow students so bring equipment like stethoscope, reflex hammer, etc and dress as a patient. I want to show you how to do things like reflexes for someone in a bed etc. This will be fun.
3/2 I have been contacted by one of your class mates telling me a number of you have a midterm in Pharm class on the 5th. The request was to be able to take the EKG later than March 8th. Here is what I will do to help you all. I will make the EKG exam available for 24 hrs each for both March 8th and 12th. You can decide what is the best time for you.
........3/2 Congratulations. Exam 2 grades average was 90% with range 97-82%. Four questions were given credit after exam analysis. I will be listing the remainder of the reading assignments but remember you have the EKG exam this coming week.
.....2/22/18. Some students are having trouble with the link for opioid equivalents so I have replaced the file. Yes, you will be given the table but asked to do some dosing when switching from one opioid to another.
...2/4 Congratulations. Exam 1 average age was 92 with a range of 98-84.
...
2/2/2018 Next set of content is published. This is on Gerontology, Pain, and SBIRT. A part of the content is a series of modules on opioid management. The express level is that which you will be held accountable but you are welcome to do the expert level. The EKG content will be tested on separate date so not part of the next exam.
