Approach to acutely ill adult

Introduction: 

This module focus is on the process of approaching care of the acutely ill adult. This includes the process of doing a history and physical, the process of daily management, the process of transition of care, the process of documentation, and the process of obtaining hospital privileges. This module also includes formal education on the process of giving bad news to patients/families in the acute care setting. Prior to the on campus class you will be studying the materials listed. During on campus class you will be practicing doing a physical exam on an acutely ill adult in a bed. There are some specific ways this can be facilitated and so we will cover them then. We will discuss the module content and then have an in class written exam. Additionally you will be writing a paper than demonstrates your competence in writing and admission note for an acutely ill adult.
