.....2/13/18 Exam 2 is finally graded. As you know, there were technical difficulties that I had to figure out what happened so I would know how to score. I figured it out. All students got all figures counted correct. Grades are posted. There are 2 questions I want to highlight: A 6 pack of platelets raises the count by 5,000 per unit x 6 packs = 30,000 (all students got this counted right since many of you missed it.) Asthma exacerbation may be treated with hour long albuterol - it is not an overdose. Congratulations. The remainder exams are in class and you will not run into technical difficulties during exams again in this class. I do apologize for this time.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS. There are A few things you will need for next term so wanted to give you a heads up so you can borrow from other students or purchase soon.
SUTURE KIT:
Suturing will be a required skill taught in NUR941 that you must show competence by 3/28/18. If you already know how to suture then you will just demonstrate that to me. If however you do not know how to do a simple interrupted stitch with suture then you will need to purchase from Sim*Suture http://www.sim-vivo.com

We will be covering a number of skills in this class but this is one that you must reach competence by April 1st . No matter how many tubes you can insert, you still have to suture many of them in place. The first class we will be review this so make sure you bring your Sim*Suture to class if you do not already know how to suture.
Since you will be starting clinicals at the beginning of the semester, Exam 1 (Skills module) will occur January the 15th on canvas. I highly recommend that you be reviewing that module now. On Feb. 2nd all be doing simulations in class on those procedures.
