Quick tips on using Zoom

  • Make sure your camera is pointed at you during your conversations
  • Before you use Zoom for teaching, please make sure you have enabled the HD option under camera settings, do not enable screen mirroring if you plan on writing on a board. Also, under the general tab, you may enable the 2 monitor option that will help you move the participants to a different screen.
  • Avoid distracting or backgrounds with a strong  back light (windows)
  • Record your meeting so students can refer back to your lecture if needed
  • Share your screen if you'd like to show some external resources or your computer desktop
  • Mute everyone during large meetings to avoid background noise
  • Turn off participant video for large meetings
