CONNECT IS NOT PAIRED WITH CANVAS IN THIS COURSE FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS AND YOUR GRADED HOMEWORK WILL NOT APPEAR UNDER ASSIGNMENTS ON CANVAS AND INSTEAD WILL APPEAR ON CONNECT AND THE MODULES ON CANVAS

All Chapter lectures can be accessed on Canvas under ‘Yuja: All Channels’ which is listed on the side bar of the screen under Home Page in Canvas. You must always read the chapter first before listening to the narrated video lectures. I assign exercises from the textbook which can be found under your ‘Course Calendar’ on the syllabus and the solutions will also be covered in the video Homework lectures under Yuja-All Channels. I strongly encourage you to work these exercises and problems on your own before listening to the video lectures since this will reinforce the learning process. This approach will adequately prepare you for the exams where you will be expected to complete similar exercises and problems. Keep in mind that you can only learn the information in this course through application and you CANNOT by simply studying a solution. We will use ‘Connect’ a homework manager system through your textbook publisher.

Links to an external site.I will assign algorithmic versions of the exercises and problems for your online graded homework from the text homework and you will only have two attempts and the HIGHEST score will be reflected in the Instructor Grade Book on Connect, thus, it is imperative that you are able to solve the assigned homework from the textbook first. You must access the graded online homework and submit your solutions through Connect, and all due dates are listed on Connect as well as your Modules on Canvas. CONNECT IS NOT PAIRED WITH CANVAS IN THIS COURSE FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS AND YOUR GRADED HOMEWORK WILL NOT APPEAR UNDER ASSIGNMENTS ON CANVAS. If you do not submit your assignment by the due date, a zero will automatically be assigned for the late assignment. Never wait until the final hours to submit your assignment since you could encounter a computer issue or the CONNECT site could be down for maintenance. Also, once students begin submitting assignments, I cannot reopen for anyone who failed to submit on time. Keep in mind that online classes require more discipline on your part. You can always work ahead and even begin the class prior to the start date.

How to approach this course:

Read the chapter
Listen to the chapter video lecture on Yuja: All Channels
Complete the homework assigned from the textbook and start no later than the START date clearly listed under CALENDAR on the Course Syllabus. The text homework is practice for your online graded homework and the exams. You do not submit this homework since I cover the solutions in the homework video lectures.
Listen to the video homework coverage lecture on YuJa: All Channels before you start the graded online homework. Make certain you listen to the homework video lecture only after you completed the assigned textbook homework.
Complete the graded online homework on or before the due date listed on Connect and the Canvas Modules where you only have two attempts.
When preparing for the exams you must STUDY the video lectures SLOWLY and understand all the points I am making before you go on to the next slide. Also, be at a point where you can rework the homework assigned from the text without looking back to the solution.
