TEDs Videos Reflections

  • Due Oct 11, 2017 by 11pm
  • Points 5
  • Submitting a discussion post

(1) Watch the following videos (they are short 10-14 min long) regarding different aspects in engineering, especially how engineering is being used to discover new technologies and ideas!

“Engineering and Evolution”: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/robert_full_on_engineering_and_evolution.html Links to an external site.

“Re-Engineering the Mosquito” http://www.ted.com/talks/hadyn_parry_re_engineering_mosquitos_to_fight_disease.html Links to an external site.

"A computer that works like the brain" http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/kwabena_boahen_on_a_computer_that_works_like_the_brain.html Links to an external site.

"Engineering a Viral Music Video" http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/adam_sadowsky_engineers_a_viral_music_video.html Links to an external site.

After watching the four videos, post to the discussion about your reactions to the videos. Think about how what kind of knowledge and opportunities these people might have had in order to get where they are today. How might you shape a student who were interested in some of these activities? You need to post and then you need to comment on at least 2 other posts and keep the conversation going on your own. Post by Wednesday, comment by Friday.
