Discussion 2
- Due No Due Date
- Points 0
- Submitting a discussion post
Initial Post
Clearly explain the prompt of this graded discussion activity - it can be just text or include video and/or audio. Consider how students can utilize the assigned reading and lecture content when formulating a response in order to make connections and utilize the information they gained. In addition, consider how you may connect the prompt to students' experiences or background - can they utilize media, such as movies, songs, books, a meme, etc. as a way to make a point, raise a question, or illustrate a concept? Remember that students can also utilize video, audio, and visuals with their responses.
Response to Others
Clearly explain what are expectations for student-to-student interaction. For example:
- How many students does a student need to respond to?
- Provide some examples of what a thoughtful and/or critical response will include.
Grading & Due Date
State how you will assess students' posts; creating a discussion board rubric may be helpful to define expectations.
Consider setting different due dates for the initial post and response to others in order to foster continuous discussion and interaction.
